Beyond Walls

Last updated: May 2026

Beyond Walls is committed to protecting the privacy, safety, and personal information of our users. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and how we help keep the platform safe and appropriate.

1. About Beyond Walls

Beyond Walls is a modern inmate profile discovery platform designed to help people discover inmate profiles and learn how to connect through approved prison communication systems.

Beyond Walls does not provide direct inmate messaging services. Communication takes place through third-party prison-approved systems such as JPay, GettingOut, CorrLinks, Securus, postal mail, or other facility-approved methods.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect:

  • Names and profile information
  • Email addresses
  • Account login details
  • Profile photos
  • State and facility information
  • Interests and profile preferences
  • Device/browser information
  • Usage and interaction data
  • Messages submitted through contact or waitlist forms
  • Authorized representative names, relationship, email and telephone details
  • Eligibility declarations, policy versions, typed signatures and acceptance timestamps
  • IP address and browser user-agent information used to evidence an application acceptance
  • Private conviction-review evidence, discrepancies and refund decisions

Some inmate profile information may also be sourced from publicly available records or provided through approved application submissions.

3. UK GDPR & Data Rights

Beyond Walls processes personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 where applicable.

Website user accounts and inmate profiles are stored as separate records. A user account is not the same thing as an inmate profile, and deleting a user account does not automatically delete an inmate profile.

Inmate profile management may be transferred to another authorized person when appropriate. Beyond Walls may preserve approved public profile information while removing or changing the manager account linked to that profile.

Users may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data where applicable by contacting Beyond Walls.

4. Public Profile Information

Profiles displayed on Beyond Walls are intended to be publicly viewable within the platform.

Public profile information may include:

  • First name
  • Age
  • State or facility
  • Interests and hobbies
  • Sentence or release information, where available
  • Conviction categories, where publicly available
  • Approved communication methods

Users should not upload confidential, private, or sensitive personal information they do not wish to become visible on the platform.

5. Safety & Moderation

Beyond Walls aims to maintain a safe platform.

We reserve the right to:

  • Deny profile submissions
  • Remove profiles
  • Restrict access
  • Investigate reports
  • Remove inaccurate or harmful information

Profiles may be reviewed before approval.

Beyond Walls does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of all publicly sourced information. Information may change over time and may vary between jurisdictions.

6. Third-Party Prison Communication Systems

Beyond Walls does not operate prison communication systems.

Communication with inmates occurs through independent third-party providers and prison-approved systems. Beyond Walls is not responsible for:

  • Third-party messaging systems
  • Prison mail delays
  • Facility restrictions
  • Inmate transfers
  • Account suspensions by prison providers

Users are responsible for complying with all prison and facility communication rules.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect user information and platform security.

However, no online platform can guarantee absolute security. Users should exercise caution when sharing personal information online.

Eligibility records, representative contact details, signatures, IP addresses and internal review evidence are restricted to authorized staff and service systems. They are not included in public profile APIs. We retain them only for legitimate safety, legal, dispute, payment and audit purposes and review retention needs periodically.

8. Cookies & Analytics

Beyond Walls may use cookies, analytics tools, and similar technologies to:

  • Improve website performance
  • Understand platform usage
  • Enhance user experience
  • Monitor traffic and engagement

Users may disable cookies through their browser settings.

9. Reporting & Removal Requests

Users may report:

  • Fake profiles
  • Inaccurate information
  • Impersonation
  • Safety concerns
  • Inappropriate content

Requests for profile removal or correction may be submitted through our contact email.

10. Age Requirement

Users must be at least 18 years old to use Beyond Walls.

11. Changes to This Policy

Beyond Walls may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the platform after updates means users accept the revised policy.
